Time

June-July, 25 hours per week.

Schedule

Mondays - ProX program team and coaches will facilitate professional development for all participants.

Tuesday-Sunday - 21 hrs of professional experiences for students through internship or CCP. Exact days and times will be coordinated between student and employer.

Payment

$1,250 stipend and 1 hour academic credit awarded to students after successful completion of the program.

  • If transportation is an issue, discuss this with your ProX Coach, they will help you identify a solution.

  • Students participating in the ProX internship program must be between 14 and 19 years old during the summer 2023. The program is for current 9th- 12th graders.

  • 1. Internships - 5 weeks, 21hrs per week working onsite or remotely, and 4hrs a week in professional development sessions. The experience includes matching student with a manager and, if possible, an additional mentor. Work experience should include connections to multiple departments, industry insights and opportunity to learn of future trends and opportunities in the field as well as what it takes to get there. Manager (subject to background check) bears primary responsibility of working with the intern(s), creating work plans and providing feedback on deliverables. ProX coaches will work alongside the manager and workplace team to enhance the employer and student experience.

    2. Client Connected Projects - 5 weeks, 21 hrs per week working offsite with a team of students through the design thinking process to develop a solution for your identified problem statement. The student will have 4hrs a week of professional development sessions. Project sponsor (subject to background check) bears responsibility of defining problem statement, recommending SME resources and providing periodic feedback on progress in addition to the final review. ProX coaches will work alongside the team to enhance the employer and student experience.

  • Yes, in order to participate, you must be available for 25 hours per week during - June 3 - July 11.

  • Students will have the opportunity to earn 1hr of elective credit for successful completion of ProX. Enrollment process and academic requirements will be managed by the ProX program team and reported back to the student’s home district and high school.

  • A motivating adult that is committed to helping youth achieve success in the application, interview, placement, and work experience. Available for 1:1 support and group coaching, this individual will ensure ProX participation creates value for youth this summer and for the future.

  • The Employer Development Manager will guide employers through the process to sign up and create ProX opportunities that set up both youth and employers for success. This may include guidance on projects and internship responsibilities as well as understanding cultural factors in order to set up your ProX experience for success.

  • ImBlaze is a Real World Learning management tool that enables ProX to share internships and projects from across the city with interested students. It allows us to monitor the search process, track student attendance and ensure compliance and quality student experience.

    Using an internet browser or iOS and Android apps, students can easily search for opportunities and log attendance while their coaches can stay in-the-know about any emergent needs employers or students may have.

    ImBlaze is also available for schools and programs outside ProX.
